Christmas in July 2024!

Dear Friend,

Christmas in July 2024! It’s here! Again! Well…nearly here! I say this often, but it still surprises me just how quickly time flies. This is the last full week in June. Oh, my! And next week starts the Great Homeschool Convention’s really neat Christmas in July Sweepstakes! I get excited for this every year. Do you?

I loved picking out the pieces I wanted to include in this year’s giveaway! I had so much fun choosing items I would have loved receiving in a giveaway. I hope you’re just as excited as I am when you see what’s included this year. I confess, I probably went a little overboard, but it’s just my nature! Lol. I love making others happy and love buying and giving presents! So please consider this my personal gift to you, even though it’s through the Christmas in July event at the Great Homeschool Convention! : ) Plus, with the economy the way it is, I feel like it’s just nice to have something “extra” this summer!

What I want for you while you’re here…

I want you to feel this is a place where you know you can decompress, find good, wholesome, Christian literature written to engross you and take you on a wild, clean adventure full of action, mystery, a hunt for clues, and some clean, sweet romance woven in along the way; and of course, I want you to enjoy your time here!

So, welcome! If this is your first time visiting, I’m super glad you stopped by to chat with me today, and I hope you feel you’ve entered the home of a kindred spirit both spiritually, as your Christian sister, and also just in general! I’m guessing you’re here because you enjoy the same things I do! I’m so glad you found me, and I’m even happier to make your acquaintance!

If you’re already my kindred spirit, I’m so glad you’ve stopped back to visit with me and continue chatting! It’s always nice to know there are still readers and friends in the world who view life the same way I do-through a Christian lens!

If you’re new here, this is What you should know about me…

I am a writer of YA Christian fantasy! I’m also more of what you’d call a “cinematic” writer. What does this mean? I write what I “see.” Readers often tell me they feel like they’re spectators on the fringe of a scene, rather than just “reading a book.” If that sounds like something you’d enjoy, then you’ll love my debut, YA medieval Christian fantasy series, In the Shadow of Emerald Fire!

What are my books about?

My goal is to write clean, healthy, “cinematic,” YA medieval Christian fantasy stories that convey biblical principles, values, morals, and beliefs! My books are definitely not for the faint of heart! I wrote them to engross you and take you on an amazing adventure. If you love to analyze, gather clues, uncover secrets, and problem-solve your way out of tough situations with a bit of clean romance along the way, you’ve come to the right place!

From the Christian perspective, I placed an emphasis on several themes in my books! In Book 1, you’ll be interested in the theme of sacrifice (brothers laying down their lives for another). In Book 2, I explore the redeeming love of Christ and focus on redemption, despite a disappointing past. In my upcoming third and final book in this series, you’ll engage in the biblical themes of forgiveness and healing.

Sometimes my Christian themes I focus on in my books are more subtle, but they are always there. As a follower of Christ, it’s difficult not to incorporate the love and light of Christ and God’s rules and expectations on a believer’s life when writing. It just happens. It flows through the pen onto paper. I write from the heart, so whatever you read is written with authenticity and feeling.

Which book is first?

It all starts with Book 1: The Lost King’s Daughter!

Here’s where you’ll meet Finockt, a young, orphaned, peasant girl with a complicated past. She owns a treasure unbefitting her lowly status: a golden necklace containing half an intricate golden cross pendant. Given to her as a child, she longs to learn the reasons by which the precious item came to her, and so determines to leave her village and forge sense out of why and how she lost her family in the first place. But something deeper than herself prompts her to remain, until the day her vengeful enemy seeks her life after discovering the secret she has kept hidden for years. Now Finockt finds herself tossed in the midst of a battle between two kingdoms, each with a claim to one man’s throne!

Follow her as she searches for clues to solve the mystery surrounding herself and the stronghold to which she’s taken. And find the courage to brave the darkness and discover another secret buried in the depths of an ancient castle to help aid her on her quest!

What follows Book 1?

Then jump into Book 2-The Heir!

This is where you’ll discover that for every decision (whether well-intentioned or not) there are consequences. Now Finockt must face hers. Ever loyal to her father’s quest, she sets out for the Highlands to find the missing heir to Thorlóthlon’s throne. What she discovers is far more than she ever imagined and gives her a different perspective on life and Deverell. Her quest, however, jeopardizes the very lives of all those she holds dear. Enemy forces descend on their safe haven, and her plan to save them all fails. She and Gwri are captured, and her greatest fear materializes-she can no longer protect the cross from Tirell. All hope seems lost: Valínthia’s throne in danger of falling to the enemy. An epic battle ensues, leaving Finockt and Gwri fighting for more than love. Who will survive to claim the cross? And will Valínthia ever be able to seat Thorlóthlon’s true heir on the throne?
