Christian Tropes

Dear Friend,
Welcome back to the final episode of book tropes!
Today, we will be looking at Christian tropes in my books!
While most likely self-explanatory, there may be a few you didn’t realize were actually present in my books, so, I’ll defer to the picture below so that you get a good idea of what is in Book 1-The Lost King’s Daughter.
Take a peek!

What do you think?
As aforementioned, the Christian tropes listed here are vastly self-explanatory. There’s not much left to be said on this score.
So, what is the crux of the Christian message?
Mainly, that the female main character struggles with her faith.
While I can say that Finockt is saved and trusts in the Lord, you discover (perhaps more so in Book 2-The Heir) that she struggles with her faith because of her dark and sorrow-filled past.
But God has not given up on her. He still guides her. He still answers her. He still gives her an ember of hope when the flames dies low.
And yet all this is more subtle in Book 1-The Lost King’s Daughter. The only thing you really get to see and understand is that Finockt is listening for the Lord’s voice and trying to follow it, despite her struggle to trust Him after all the tragedies that have befallen her young life.
Why does Finockt struggle with her faith?
It was important for me to show this in my books because I think at some point in our Christian walk, we all struggle with the same thing. When disappointments come our way, things never turn out the way we wanted them after years of praying, or when God doesn’t step in like we wanted Him to and things go in a different direction, we tend to get discouraged and feel as if God is no longer there. And worse yet, that He doesn’t care. But that is so completely the opposite of the truth!
And yet all of these things are obstacles we face in the Christian walk. They’re hurdles we must overcome.
And while I never felt like I really struggled with any of these factors when I was a very young teen, I found as I grew older that something changed…and I did face more of a struggle to “keep the faith,” so to speak, in my own Christian walk.
Shouldn’t we not face this as Christians?
Many don’t. God has given them faith that most of us lack. These are usually the amazing brothers and sisters in Christ who are our sounding boards, confidantes, mentors and allies in this difficult walk toward our citizenship in Heaven.
But sooner or later, even the great stalwarts of faith will confess that they, too, face trials and tribulations, disappointments, and challenges that shake their faith as well, but they are never undermined by these trials. And neither should we.
What’s the secret to surviving?
The key is to keep trusting the Lord, come what may.
This is what Finockt does, but it isn’t really seen until Book 2-The Heir. This is where the culmination of everything she’s been struggling with finally comes to a head.
She is able to get all the answers she needs and understand to the fullness just how loving God is, despite all the tragic things that can befall us in this life.
So, I wrote this for you as much as I did for myself…
I wanted Finockt’s story to be an encouragement for those readers who are struggling with the same things she is.
But I also wanted it to be an opportunity for those who aren’t to thank God for this mercy in their lives. Or even to thank Him for possibly giving them the strength and faith they needed when they prayed for it.
Conclusion
Ultimately, my goal was for Finockt’s story to give you hope and to renew your faith or strengthen it, however, it may befall you.
I hope I achieved this!
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?
Is this what you see in my YA medieval Christian fantasy trilogy, In the Shadow of Emerald Fire! Or do you see something different?
