Great Homeschool Convention Follow-up 2025!

GHC 2025 Follow-up!

Dear Friend,

Have you been anxiously awaiting the Great Homeschool Convention Follow-up for 2025?!

Well, I have! Because so many incredible things happened! Most notably, that Finockt received so many high compliments for the nature of her quest! She is more than elated to have so many kindred spirits invested in her journey and eagerly anticipating what happens to her next! She did tell me to share with you that the last leg of her journey is a bit harrowing…in more ways than one! But I won’t tell you why! At least…not right now…but I can tell you…

Oh, I had SO much fun writing this final, thrilling episode in Finockt’s life! But I’ll save that for an actual Book 3 update, which I need to do really soon. But, without further delay, let’s launch into some highlights and follow-up for the 2025 edition of the Great Homeschool Convention!

The Booth!

Based on my assigned floorplan, I anticipated my booth placement would be one in from the corner, but when I arrived, to my surprise, I discovered that I actually had a corner booth! Crazy! That has never happened before. This was great because with some fantastic ideas given by my sister, I was able to use more of the space to showcase some character art I made on Canva.

What do you think?

Haha, I will say, for some reason, it was extremely humid on the convention center. This led to a lot of wrinkles on my paper posters and curling edges. Even my books started saying, help! I had to flatten them to keep them from warping. Thankfully, it didn’t damage them!

My sister was kind enough to take a day off from work and help me! That was super nice of her to do! She stayed a little bit and helped me unload and load the day of and following the close of the convention. I was grateful!

What else is so neat about these conventions…?

Meeting up with Old Friends!

Meet Amanda Trumpower and her husband, Josiah!

I first met Amanda at the very first GHC I ever attended. She helped me prior to the event with knowing what exactly to bring and gave me tips on how to set up my booth, such as use of a runner or fabric poster. She was so kind and extremely encouraging and helpful that first year when I was a total newbie and reached out to her prior to the event for advice; she definitely delivered!

We’ve stayed in contact ever since and meet up at the conventions to catch up on the what’s happening in the author world and beyond!

If you’re not familiar with Amanda or her books, she writes Christian fiction books for kids ages 7-12 with a focus on adorable animals who are crime-fighters, mystery solvers, and superheroes to the rescue! Each book contains a Christian value or principle taken from the Word of God. Check out her website and learn more about her here!

(Amanda can also be found on Instagram!).

Meeting up with New friends!

Meet Christian and his sister, Kelsey!

Christian and his sister, Kelsey!

They are a really cool brother-sister duo who knock it out of the park when it comes their love for writing and illustrating comic books! With a unique twist on familiar biblical principles and accounts, they infuse their comic books with a delightful blend of great storytelling and spiritual insight.

Christian is the writer, and Kelsey is the artist! I first met them at the Great Homeschool Convention in 2024! They are the absolute nicest, most genuine people you will ever encounter. If you have a chance to meet them yourselves, then definitely say hello! You couldn’t ask for better people to know.

If you’d like to check them out, then head on over to their website, The Whimsical Sort, by going here and learn more about their unique comic books as well as their companion books!

(Christian and Kelsey can also be found on YouTube and X!).

Thinking of heading to the Great homeschool Convention?

The Great Homeschool Convention for 2026 is set to return to Cincinnati, Ohio! I hope you’ll consider coming! Not only does this growing homeschool convention give you opportunities to venture into the world of fiction from various authors, such as myself, it also supplies homeschooling families with access to unique homeschooling curriculum and materials to help foster the imagination and intelligence of each and every child in your home!

So consider coming and visiting the Great Homeschool Convention next year, where you’ll find yours truly (Lord willing) in the newly renovated Duke Convention Center in Cincinnati, Ohio! What fun it shall be reconnecting with old and new friends alike! That includes YOU! 🙂

And a very special thank you…

It wouldn’t be a proper Great Homeschool Convention Follow-up for 2025 if I didn’t take a moment to truly thank all those who stopped by my booth to offer encouragement, chat about Finockt’s story, share their mutual love for the spiritual aspect of my books, or just drop by to literally say hi!

Whether you decided to invest in Finockt’s story now, or are considering her story for later, I want to say thank you for visiting with me, for inquiring into the heart and soul of who I am, and for just being the kind and compassionate and caring individual you are.

When I say this, I mean it with all of my heart, I love talking with you! And when things got hectic at my booth, I hope you didn’t feel neglected or ignored. That wasn’t my intention whatsoever. I value your time and your friendship, and I just want to thank you one more time for visiting my booth, for your interest in what I do, and for your support, encouragement, and mutual love for Finockt’s story. You are such a blessing in my life! I hope that I have been able to reciprocate in some small way the generosity that you have shown me.

Here’s part of my tribute to you that I made on Instagram…maybe it’s worded a little better…

Inspired to know more about my trilogy?

Then head over to my Books section here, where you’ll discover what led me to write my teen/YA medieval Christian fantasy in the first place. Then head over to Book 1-The Lost King’s Daughter, where you’ll find a summary regarding Book 1’s premise. Interested in learning about Book 2-The Heir? Check out this page for more information.

Book 3 is in the steady, progressing stages of editing.

I have another Book 3 update (one of many!) coming soon! It was written awhile ago; however, I thought you might enjoy reading this one as well so you can see how things morph and change for the author on a month-to-month basis.

Lastly, are you a library fan?

You’ll be happy to know that you can find Books 1 and 2 at Dayton Metro Library; Book 1 at New Carlisle Public Library; and now, introducing Arcanum Public Library! Woo-hoo! I was stunned and thrilled to hear this!

A huge shout-out and extension of gratitude to the super supportive reader who requested this at her local library in Arcanum! Thank you for wanting to read Finockt’s story and reaching out to your library in order to get it! xoxo

You have the power! If you can’t find my books in your local library, don’t be afraid to request my books. I’m sure your librarian would be only too happy to help! Libraries can find my books on Amazon or Ingramspark.

And one last library! I can’t forget Wabash-Carnegie Public Library in Wabash, IN! You can find Book 1 at this library ready and waiting for you! I was so excited to have my book shelved in another state’s library. How cool is that?! Ummm…hopefully I needn’t answer that one for you. hehee.

If you’re a librarian reading this, thank you so much for your support and for ordering my book to add to your special collection! I’m so incredibly grateful and excited to share my book with readers who may not otherwise have the opportunity to join in Finockt’s adventure!

Until next time, dear friend, know that I’m very grateful God allowed our paths to cross, and I hope that whatever He enables me to write is somehow, in some way, an uplifting means of encouragement in your own life…God bless. xoxo
