Coming soon…

Dear Friend,

Coming soon…

The Writer’s Nook!

Originally, I had planned to begin The Writer’s Nook over the summer, but after further thought, autumn seemed a better time to engage in something that seemed to me more “academic.” Perhaps this notion was reinforced by the fact that I’ve always loved fall…and school. There’s nothing better than the smell of a brand new box of crayons or better yet pencils! I always loved poring over binders and selecting my colors for each subject coming up in the new school year. Composition notebooks were my favorite as well. Sometimes, when growing up, I’d even get a rare treat of a pencil with a colorful design on it. The older I got, the more I enjoyed mechanical pencils. The comforting smell of a pencil bouquet wasn’t there with the mechanical pencils…but they were fun to manipulate and use; and somehow, they felt more “grown up.” Haha.

S0…what is The Writer’s Nook about?

My goal is to create a space in which I can share with you what’s worked for me as a burgeoning author. I’d also like to share a little more regarding my author story, how my debut YA Christian fantasy series came about, and my tips on the craft of writing. I’d also like to share with you my favorite books now and again-ones that I just love reading as well as those that inspired my own writing.

Why did I decide to create this?

In recent years, as an aspiring author myself, I grew more fascinated by other authors’ journeys and how they approached the writing craft. I also grew more interested in what writing tips they had and sought out their advice on writing through their blogs, videos, etc. Interestingly, however, prior to my own pursuit of authoring stories, my mindset was very different. That is, back when I was “just” a reader, I was literally only interested in books themselves. I didn’t care how they came about, or even who the author was (aside from knowing their name so I could locate and check out their other books at the library! Haha.). All I cared about was “does this author have anything else I’d enjoy reading?” Does this sound like you, too?

Yet now that I’m a writer and enjoy cultivating the craft, I’m hoping my journey may speak to another aspiring writer who’s seeking what I was not that long ago, or perhaps it may even speak to an established writer, who could possibly say, “Hey, I feel the same about x,y, and z! Let’s connect!”

Or maybe you’re just curious about writing and have never thought about it before now. Perhaps then, reading about my writing journey and tips may fan the flames of your own unexpected venture into the beautiful world of authorship yourself. Looking back, I oftentimes found that others’ personal stories inspired me to pursue my own story. I hope that may be the case for you as well.

Regardless of your reason for visiting the upcoming establishment of The Writer’s Nook, know you are always welcome, I’m glad you’re here, and it is my hope that our community of kindred spirits may grow and thrive, both in terms of favorite literature read as well as a continuing our burgeoning love for writing!

Does this interest you?

If this sounds interesting to you, keep checking back with me! I aim to share my first actual The Writer’s Nook post somewhere between early to mid-September! I’ll keep in touch and when it gets closer to September, I’ll let you know the actual post date. : )

So don’t forget! It’s all coming soon!

In the Meantime…

Looking for a good book to read that is clean, for YA, is Christian, and has all the adventure, drama, intrigue, light romance, and daring escapes you could hope for?! Check out the first 2 books in my series, In the Shadow of Emerald Fire, available now on Amazon or at my store!

Looking for a Library read of my first 2 books?!

If you live local, you can borrow my books from the Dayton Metro Library, or check out Book 1, The Lost King’s Daughter, at the New Carlisle Public Library! (New Carlisle Public Library also services Tipp City and Troy libraries!) Book 1 is also available at Wabash-Carnegie Public Library in Wabash, IN, if you live there! If you can’t find Book 2, The Heir, at Wabash, let your librarian know!

Bummed you can’t find my books in more libraries?!

Request them wherever you live and share the adventure! More than your library will thank you! : )

Until next time…I do so hope you’re enjoying these last remaining weeks of summer and are looking forward to the return of academics and the sweet sights and smells of fall! God bless and talk to you soon! xoxo
