Book 3 Update

Dear Friend,

Today’s news is an update all about Book 3!

Are you as excited about this update as I am?

I couldn’t wait to pen this Book 3 update to you! So, without further ado, let me share the most recent happenings with Book 3!

Note: I found this just today, haha, and decided to post it anyway. Things have changed just slightly, but I’ll save that for another post. I hope you enjoy this update, that, to be honest, I should have shared with you not long after the GHC ended back in April. However, the gist of what I need/want to say is here. Lord willing, I plan on sharing another update, as I may, next week! And keep an eye out…I plan on sharing the Book 3’s title as well!

How close am I to being done?

Incredibly close!

Have I said this a lot in the past?

Yes, definitely! But this time…it’s actually true!

I know you’ve waited a long time for me to complete Book 3, and I’m as anxious to have it into your hands as you are!

For this Book 3 update, let’s look at each Part of Book 3 individually!

Book 3-Part I

I just finished my final run-through this past Saturday*! I still have a couple of chapters I need to quickly finalize before officially declaring myself done with this first part of Book 3, but once that is completed this coming week (hopefully Monday and Tuesday) then I can safely say that Part I is ready and waiting for the next steps! *this refers to back in April…much more has happened since then!

I also have a couple of Breton phrases that I’d forgotten were actually in this portion of Book 3. So, I need to add that to the back matter before I can fully step away from this section.

What follows finishing up Part I?

Read on to find out. 🙂

Book 3-Part 2

This week I’ll be starting Part 2 of Book 3* (*this didn’t take place until after the GHC because of timing) and completing my final run-through of this section! It’s quite a few pages, so it’ll probably take my longer than a week, however, I’m hoping I’ll get through the majority of it by next Saturday!

I remain hopeful, but only God knows how much I’ll actually get through. I have some preparations for the upcoming Great Homeschool Convention (GHC) to also complete. Just a few things that need addressed, but that will take up a little bit of my time.

Most important question?

Do I have a release date yet for Book 3-Part I?

Yes! A tentative one!

Are you ready for it?

I’m shooting for a LATE SUMMER/FALL release date! 🙂

This is very doable for me, I think, however, this is NOT set in stone! Just a hopeful timeline I have set for myself!

You’ve waited a long time for some really good news regarding Book 3, and I’m hoping this helps solidfy in your mind that the final installment is indeed coming, despite the unprecedentedly long wait I’ve given you, unintentionally of course!

I did have some details I needed to address when going back through my final run-through of Part I, so, again, while this may not necessarily be my preferred timeline, I see that God’s hand is in this because if I’d rushed it, then I would definitely not have been able to address and fine tune everything that needed (and I wanted) to be in order to create the best ending I possibly could for you!

How does my editor like it?

She LOVES it!

The storyline kept her guessing, despite this being the last book in the series! And she also absolutely adored the ending!! Which, of course, is exactly what an author wants to hear!

That being said, it is my hope you will love this final installment as well!

How do I feel about it?

Finockt’s picture (above) says it all and is extremely fitting. She looks like she’s “walking away,” and I’m happy to report that is the same sentiment I currently am feeling, which is a good thing! It means I know that everything is the way it should be. Perhaps not perfect (because I don’t believe any book truly can be “perfect”), but it’s truly written to the best of my ability.

For me, that’s what matters most. I can’t with good conscience deliver Book 3 into your hands until the moment I know that there’s no stone left unturned, no phrase I knew I could make better, no bit of dialogue that needed one more tweak.

Once I feel that, I can offically say, I’m done!

Conclusion

My hope is that this Book 3 update has more eager than ever to see the final conclusion to my YA medieval Christian fantasy series, In the Shadow of Emerald Fire!
