Chapter 13-The Heir

Dear Friend,

I love this picturesque lead into Chapter 13-The Heir! It’s so riveting! I think I love the flow of whatever that is cascading over the sword. Is it water? Sand? Mist? I honestly don’t even know, but I found it strangely calming and intriguing all at the same time!

Skip down to see who and what involves this favorite passage!

Why this passage?

Hmmm, to be honest, I’m not quite sure! Haha. I think it’s probably because I know more of the circumstances that surrounds this particular passage. It’s fast-paced, high stakes, and harrowing! A lot of heart-pounding action and suspense! Only to end with what? Capture?! (Gasp!).

More meaning?

I always feel like there’s some other deeper meaning behind why I pick the passages I do. Perhaps this one revolves more around the overwhelming feeling of defeat and being outnumbered. Has this ever happened in your life, or have you thankfully been saved from this experience?

I think I liked it most because even when we are outnumbered, we still have hope. We still have a way out. We still have Jesus. And while the circumstances may overwhelm us and leave us petrified and unbalanced at times, once we reach our equilibrium again, we can refocus our minds and hearts on the One who will save us from all things: Christ.

This is why I particularly chose this passage. Not only because it was a bit harrowing…Gwri, outwitted by Maegowan? What? And yet through it all, if you read Chapter 13 for yourself, you’ll find that one unlikely person has hope. A person you might not expect to carry the hope of rescue…even if it is for a brief moment in time.
