Dear Keeper of the hearth and fellow introvert, Dear Keeper of the hearth and fellow introvert, I thought I’d have something more profound to share with you. I don’t. I have only to say that the winds of change hit hard at my current place of employment today, in an expected albeit unexpected way. Thankfully, God has been merciful to me, and I’m grateful for His preservation and watch-care over me and my job. But it does make me wonder what other changes will be happening over the next few months. This I must entrust to Him. Life is strange. So steady and monotonous at times and so tumultuous at others—oftentimes without prediction or warning. I’m grateful to have God in my life to see me through it all, even when I struggle with doubt. And I’m thankful to have my writing as a means of escape and catharsis. It is definitely a gift to be able to soar away on the wings of a pen. 🖊️ Have you had a similar experience recently? For me, this embodies reading on a cold winter’s night while the heat from a slow-burning fire flows over me, warming me to the core with old memories, just like this one, and the comforting glow of tranquility and safety that equally defines my definition of home. As a Celt, while I do enjoy a good outing with friends and family or traveling the globe on some new adventure, it’s within the home that I find my true joy and happiness.
