Dear Keeper of the hearth and fellow introvert, Dear Keeper of the hearth and fellow introvert, I thought I’d have something more profound to share with you. I don’t. I have only to say that the winds of change hit hard at my current place of employment today, in an expected albeit unexpected way. Thankfully, God has been merciful to me, and I’m grateful for His preservation and watch-care over me and my job. But it does make me wonder what other changes will be happening over the next few months. This I must entrust to Him. Life is strange. So steady and monotonous at times and so tumultuous at others—oftentimes without prediction or warning. I’m grateful to have God in my life to see me through it all, even when I struggle with doubt. And I’m thankful to have my writing as a means of escape and catharsis. It is definitely a gift to be able to soar away on the wings of a pen. 🖊️ Have you had a similar experience recently? Keepers of the hearth references the Breton and Ce Keepers of the hearth references the Breton and Celtic love for staying home beside the warmth of a good fire and enjoying the solace and solitude of the home. For me, this embodies reading on a cold winter’s night while the heat from a slow-burning fire flows over me, warming me to the core with old memories, just like this one, and the comforting glow of tranquility and safety that equally defines my definition of home. As a Celt, while I do enjoy a good outing with friends and family or traveling the globe on some new adventure, it’s within the home that I find my true joy and happiness. I’m sure I’m not the first person to observe t I’m sure I’m not the first person to observe this, and I’m sure I won’t be the last, but have you noticed it, too? Music is everywhere, and surprisingly, in everything. I’ve heard before that everything has its own musical frequency, even though we can’t detect the sound with the human ear. But if we could hear it, the world would ring out its own symphony! 🎶 Much like when Christ said at His Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem, if you ask them [my disciples] to be quiet, the very stones would cry out! ♥️ It struck me when I was editing my 3rd and final book in my debut trilogy, In the Shadow of Emerald Fire, that even words strung together in the right way bear their own musical quality. I first noticed this when editing Book 1, The Lost King’s Daughter, and even more so when editing Book 2, The Heir. Now, I focus more on the cadence needed in Book 3, and I tweak words and phrases until the “song” is as right as I can get it. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted anyth It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted anything! I can’t believe I get to officially talk about Book 3! ✨ It’s definitely a bittersweet moment! I’m eager to share this final installment, and yet it’s kinda sad to say this is the end of Finockt’s story! Or is it?! I toyed around the other day with the idea of a possible sequel, but maybe that’s too much of a tease! 😜 That being said, I’m hard at work on Book 3 edits! They’re actually moving faster than I anticipated. At this point, I’m a little over 25% of the way through! My editor is still loving the story, and she’s still on pins and needles wondering what will happen next! She’s guessed a few times and been wrong each time, which is a good thing! I’m hoping you find Book 3 as gripping and intriguing as she does! ♥️ Are you bittersweet about this being the last book? Or are you too eager to read it to find it sad the finale is coming?!
