Here’s the official follow-up to @greathomeschoo Here’s the official follow-up to @greathomeschoolconventions held in Columbus, Ohio, this year! 🥳 Such an encouraging time, and like always, the best part was meeting up with old and new friends and readers and their families!! I LOVED chatting with everyone about books, life, and, of course, writing and anything Finockt-related! ✨ I learned so many cool things about people’s lives and even met an amazing dad who used to live in New York and had some wild and fascinating tales from his time there! I LOVE hearing about other people’s lives and their life journeys, so his life story was particularly engaging! I loved his wife’s philosophy on life as well: “the years are going to pass whether you do x, y, and z, or you don’t. So where would you like to be at the end of them?!” This was very inspiring and made a huge impression on me! I really enjoyed her fresh perspective on this! Also, got to hang out with my baby sister @marissanne12 and crash at her place! It’s been a long time, and it was nice to just chill together 🥰♥️ I also enjoyed her two goldens. I should have taken pics of them! Cash is the older one; he was my bud! Tommy is the younger one, and he loved me, too, but he’s still got a lot of puppy energy despite his size. Loved him, too! But Cash’s chill nature kept me calm and relaxed, which was what I needed…my sister will be the first to tell you, I wasn’t cool about the slobber though, no matter how much I love them! 😍 Riss watched out for me, and I much appreciated that ♥️🥰 Did you find the symbols or clues from my IG stories I posted last night?! Were you able to match them with the pics, or at least guess who they belonged to? I can definitely say I’m really looking forward to returning to @greathomeschoolconventions next year, Lord willing!! ♥️ the best part is convening with believers! Such an uplifting and positive atmosphere that this oftentimes weary soul desperately needs! It’s hard to believe 2 years have passed since this whole adventure began with Book1-The Lost King’s Daughter, and it’s already been 1 full year since Book 2-The Heir made its debut into the world! ✨ If you’re looking for Book 3, it’s still in the steady stages of editing! Here’s a quick follow-up from my first time @tea Here’s a quick follow-up from my first time @teachdiligently in Dayton, Ohio! With a smaller and more intimate setting, it was fantastic having the opportunity to chat with so many readers, moms and dads of readers, writers, aspiring writers, and even a burgeoning cover designer! My booth mates (booths to either side of me) were also a pleasure to meet. I even got to hang out with my younger sister and her newest addition to the family—my sweet little nephew with a ton of hair! Icing on the cake was when @karaswansonauthor came to my booth and said, “give me your spiel!” I did, and she bought both my books! 😱 At the time, I had no idea who she was.🫢 Then she introduced herself and told me she’d give me a free copy of Dust. I was stunned! I was like, wait, what?! I’ve finally met THE Kara Swanson, and she bought both of my books, and now she’s going to give me a free copy of hers?! 😳 Of course, I couldn’t take it from her for free; it didn’t feel right. I insisted on purchasing it. So her husband threw in a good deal on the sequel, and I bought both Dust and Shadow! ✨ I was so nervous, I didn’t even think to take a pic of Kara getting my books! But I was able to ask for one when I bought hers! Loved meeting her! She’s sweet and fun and personable! And I’m really looking forward to reading her books!🥰 So, overall impression of my first time at this homeschool convention was that @teachdiligently was very different from my experiences at the @greathomeschoolconventions, but I enjoyed it so much, I plan on returning next year, Lord willing! ✨ If you didn’t make it this year, then I hope to see you there next year!♥️ Hope you enjoyed the pics and the couple of changes to my booth!
